Hello from North America’s worst place to own a vehicle! Check this out:
I bet my Fiesta ST is more expensive to run than a mustang with a 5.0 in most provinces and states.

About 4.6 cartwheels to the ounce of california golden Nugget.
You could also convert it to 123.75 cow spits per ounce of texas oil

Looks to be about 6.70/gallon. Given the units, I’m assuming those are CAD, in which case it would around $5.20 USD.

I think only in major cities. I know that Atlantic Canada doesn’t get it.
Reg is $1.55L right now, so not far behind it.

$5.148 based on my math.
1.759 CAD converts to a round $1.36 USD
$1.36 USD per Liter is equivalent to $5.1481 per gallon (multiply by 3.7854)

91 octane is the best I’ve seen in Washington :(
But it’s waaaaay cheaper. Do you ever cross the border for a fill up?

And to think that I was just bitching about 3.09/gal of 93 octane. Paid 2.54 in Houston get to Dallas and it’s 3.09. I know it didn’t cost that much to pipe it up to Dallas.

So, do people who live near Pt Roberts and Blaine just drive over the border to get gas if they have Nexus? That’d be the equivalent of people living in Vancouver WA shopping in Portland.

Creeping up in my city to around $3.50 for Chevron premium, still not close to you though. Where the money goes, nobody knows - I suspect more pensions for the retire at 55 public sector set.

Wow. That’s nuts. I thought $1.15CAD was nuts when the CAN/USD was like $1.40...
Converted to USD, that’s $5.16/gallon. That’s like what we were seeing in SoCal during the big price spike back in the late-00s.

At the peak of the oil boom in 2007-2008 I was paying $4.50/gallon for regular unleaded in california. I actually took public transportation to work during that time. Then the housing bubble popped and everything went to shit.

Based on the regular price, I wouldn’t shed a single tear about $1.75 for premium. Down here our delta between the two is usually much, much wider.

I remember that period... I also remember gas in remote spots spiking much higher. I think I once bought gas at over $10/gallon somewhere along the coast north of SLO during this period.
It was a good time to be in the top 10% of CA household incomes, since aside from fuel everything else was cheap and it cut the entire lower end of travelers from the market. Traffic was gloriously light that year, too.

I almost forgot how gloriously light traffic was for about 2-3 years. Then shit got rolling again and my commute time doubled. I think the most I ever paid was $5/gallon at a little station near Kirkwood on HWY 88. After that I learned my lesson and brought a 5 gal. can with me on our camping trips in the sierras.

It’s not just octane 94 that’s pricey north of the border. Average price in Ontario right now for 87 is 123¢/liter. Which converts to 466¢(CAN)/US gallon, or $3.57 USD/gallon.

Time to move to VENEZUELA! Or one of the other countries under $1USD per gallon (in 2005, trying to find some current rates):

It was amazing. The high gas prices were more annoying than anything, considering it made life so much better when it was that high. I occasionally rode public transit before that happened and remember overhearing people on the trolleys and buses talking about how they had never rode it before but couldn’t afford to drive their SUVs anymore.
Everyone stopping at that place put like 1-2 gallons in, then continued on to somewhere else where it was cheaper. Still, I remember over $4/gal at every station. What’s crazy is that the slow creeping price increases are almost to $4 for premium now where I live (not in CA anymore). When it’s slow, nobody is bothered by it, apparently.

Its actually a bit less after the currency conversion. $4.08USD/gal is the national canada avg. His $1.76CAD/l becomes ~$5.16USD/gal. So gas is expensive there for Canada eh! Either way, thats about $2 more per gallon so like $20-$40 more per tank depending on where you are at. That would put a dent in my wallet at least for random long ass drives at 20mpg lol.
